NMI is always looking for moms who want to help other moms have a successful breastfeeding experience. If you have breastfed for six months or more and would like to help other nursing moms have the nursing experience they desire, we invite you to attend a NMI Moms Meeting to get a feel for what our organization is all about. If you continue to be interested in becoming a volunteer breastfeeding counselor, you can request an information form to take home, to be filled out and returned to NMI.

NMI holds training courses twice per year—one in the spring and one in the fall. The class meets one night per week for 5 weeks, and is instructed by a team consisting of NMI members and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.
