Supporting Breastfeeding for Now and the Future

Nursing Mothers, Inc. (NMI) is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping women and their families have the nursing experience they desire by offering mother-to-mother support and non-medical information. We aim to increase knowledge about breastfeeding in the communities we serve: from Delaware to Cecil County, Maryland, to Southern Chester County, Pennsylvania.  

How we started…

In the fall of 1965, three woman began the group that would eventually become the independent organization known as Nursing Mothers, Inc.  NMI has been supporting breastfeeding as an official entity since it’s incorporation in 1979, reaching over 2000 nursing moms per year.
